DENTON, Texas – Underlined by an exceptional individual performance by junior Kan Bunnabodee (Chonburi, Thailand), the Purdue Women’s Golf Team finished in eighth place (286-285-284; 855) at the Sam Golden Invitational. The 9-under team’s effort was boosted by Bunnabodee’s 9-under-par individual event, which saw them finish tied for seventh (69-66-72; 207).
Record of Top 50 Individual Results for Boilermakers and Head Coach Devon brouse were: senior Inez Wanamarta (T-28th, 69-66-72; 207), second year Ashley Kozlowski (T-42nd, 76-73-70; 219), senior Danielle du Toit (T-42nd, 71-76-72; 219) and rookie redshirt Jocelyne Bruch (T-46th, 73-77-70; 220).
Purdue was seventh (286-285; 571) in the team standings after Sam Golden’s first day on the links Monday at the host location, the Wildhorse Golf Course on Robson Ranch. The 6,288-yard par 72 course remained a tough one for the Boilermakers, as the team was able to subtract just one stroke from their score to win a 284 group lap on Tuesday.
Purdue is back in action at the Windy City Classic, hosted by Northwestern outside of Evanston in Wilmette, Illinois. The game is scheduled for Monday October 4 and Tuesday October 5.
