J&K shines at 29th National Junior Fencing Championship


A congratulatory ceremony was organized by the J&K Sports Council in collaboration with the Adhoc Committee of the JKAFA to honor the medalists of the 29th National Junior Fencing Championship which was held in Sonipat Haryana from December 25 to 28, 2021.

The medalists were Shreya Gupta, Anant Samakshi, Kritarthi Kotwal and Subhanaya Sharma in the girls category and Mayank Sharma, Lakshya Sharma, Amit Chib and Suryansh Sharma in the boys category.

In addition to the individual medalists, the team of saber players, men and women, were also congratulated by the secretary of the J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul.

The secretary congratulated the medalists, coaches and members of the ad hoc committee for their excellent performance in the championship and wished good luck for their future efforts.

Rajeev Sharma, President Hockey J&K, who was the guest of honor on the occasion, also congratulated the medalists and promised to congratulate the UT J&K shooters with the latest equipment.

A divisional sports officer, Jammu also congratulated the medalists for the achievement.

Rashid Ahmed, chairman of the ad hoc committee, presented the record performances of the players during the championship and expressed his gratitude to the J&K government and the Sports Council for providing the necessary sports facilities and support.
