To find the ultimate winner, you can follow the 8 p.m. ET broadcast through IFsocial media channels. The SI Awards Show will also be broadcast simultaneously by LiveXLive on at least 20 other platforms, including SportsIllustratedAwards.com, LiveXLive, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Twitter.

Here are the 2021 nominees for Sports Illustrated‘s revolutionary athlete of the year

  • Emma Raducanu
  • Ja’Marr Chase
  • LaMelo ball
  • Franco Stroll

Emma Raducanu

The British star continues to rise through the ranks of women’s tennis, winning her first Grand Slam with a US Open title in September. Raducanu’s victory was not a major event either. She became the first female or male qualifier to win a major title in the Open Era since 1968, a designation obtained after a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Leylah Fernandez. Raducanu is no longer a qualifier at the Grand Slam level. Hopefully see her again compete in major finals in 2022 and beyond.

Ja’Marr Chase

Chase struggled with falls throughout training camp and preseason, but his immense talent quickly translated into the start of the regular season. The Cincinnati receiver has four touchdowns in his first three pro games, and he starts Week 13 with 50 receptions for 906 yards and eight touchdowns. Chase could very well win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award by the end of the season, and he should be an elite target for Joe Burrow in Cincinnati for years to come.

LaMelo ball

Defenses have had little success trying to slow Ball since entering the NBA in 2020. Charlotte’s dynamic point guard ran off with Rookie of the Year last season, and he’s improved his game. in 2021-2022. Ball enters Wednesday night with an average of 19.3 points and 8.2 assists per game. He shoots 37.8% out of three. And if his first 74 pro games are any indication, he will be a household name for the foreseeable future.

Franco Stroll

The Tampa rookie sensation fits right into the Major League level in 2021 after being touted as baseball’s best prospect. Franco posted an .810 OPS in 70 regular-season games, and he still delivered in the playoffs with two homers and a pair of doubles in the ALDS.

Franco got a 12-year extension in November after his impressive rookie season.
