Leanne Wong joins US Olympic gymnastics team as substitute athlete


GAINESVILLE, Fla – Incoming Gator Rookie Leanne Wong travels to Tokyo as a replacement athlete for the US Olympic gymnastics team.

The 10 gymnasts who will travel to Tokyo were announced Sunday night after the conclusion of the US Olympic Gymnastics Trials at the America’s Center Dome in St. Louis, Missouri.

Two who will join the Gator roster competed in the Olympic trials:

  • Leanne Wong competed like an off-roader and finished eighth overall.
  • Riley mccusker only competed in uneven bars, placing fourth overall.
