Men of Golf tied for sixth at Aggie Invitational


BRYAN, Texas — North Texas Men’s Golf finished tied for sixth with No. 40 Louisville on Sunday at the Aggie Invitational at Traditions Golf Club, led by a sophomore by Vicente Marzilio 11 finishes tied for 15th individually.

The Mean Greens were seventh after finishing the second round early on Sunday after it was suspended due to darkness on Saturday night. North Texas and Louisville finished three strokes behind Houston and No. 32 New Mexico, which tied for fourth.

Behind Marzilio, the Mean Green got strong performances from sophomores tucker allen and Diego inclined, who finished tied for 22nd and 25th, respectively. Prone led the way in the final round with a 4 of 76.

“It looks like a record breaking this spring, but we played well in windy conditions,” the UNT head coach said. Brad Stracke mentioned. “We’ve beaten some strong teams and the guys keep getting better. We’re looking forward to the conference championship in a few weeks.”

The Mean Green will now prepare for the Conference USA Championship, which will be played April 25-28 in Texarkana, Texas. Last year, UNT advanced to the match play final on the last day of the competition after Marzilio won the individual championship as a freshman.
