CLEARFIELD — Ron Porter, who sits on the Lawrence Township Recreation Park Board, spoke to township supervisors Tuesday night about purchasing plugs for the fence around the park’s mixed-use field.
The plugs would be placed on top of the fence to help prevent injury. The aforementioned caps are already on the fence around the baseball diamond.
Supervisor Brian Collins also mentioned ordering new basketball hoops and backboards for the basketball court.
Supervisor Randy Powell assured Porter that the caps along with the basketball hoops and backboards will be ordered soon.
Porter also noted that Larry Putt and Rick Redden have submitted their respective resignations to the Rec Park board. Secretary/Treasurer Barb Shaffner said places on the board of directors for the amusement park have been announced.
Powell said Putt has served on the Rec Park board for more than 20 years and will receive a certificate thanking him for his service on the board.
Roadmaster Ron Woodling has advised that paving of Kerr Addition will begin on Monday June 27 and that Coal Hill is also ready to be paving.
Supervisor Jeremy Ruffner reported that the township has found a part-time code enforcement officer. Agatha Lauder will fill the position, as needed, for $17/hour.
Ruffner also reported that bids for the dog park fence are coming in and bids are being received through June 30.
Those still interested are encouraged to email Ruffner for the application form or contact Shaffner at the township office.
