Penn State Fencing heads to Sacré-Coeur for first double series of season

University Park, PA – The Penn State men’s and women’s fencing teams travel to Fairfield, Connecticut on Sunday, December 5 to compete at Sacred Heart University for the first doubles series of the season. The Nittany Lions will face other varsity athletes from New York University, Harvard University, Princeton University, Vassar College and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Men’s fencing this weekend will be:

Sword – Elias Cole (Chappaqua, NY), Ryan griffiths (Fair Lawn, NJ), Peter Kambeseles (Brooklyn, New York), Jonathan Piskovatskov (Houston, Texas), Daniel Shifron (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), Devin Tafoya (Highlands Ranch, Colorado), and Evan xu (Sugarland, Texas),

Foil – Sebastiano bicego (Vicenza, Italy), Shane Iverson (Basking Ridge, New Jersey), Aidan Johnson (Oceanport, NJ), Donavyn Martinez (Fresno, CA) and Konner Paik (Norwood, New Jersey)

Saber – Jeffrey Basalyga (Saddle River, NJ), Ethan Mullenix (San Francisco, CA), Clement Perrier (Allauch, France), Kamar Skeete (Duluth, GA) and Nick Zielinski (Prospect Heights, Illinois)

Women’s fencing this weekend will be:

Sword – Kateryna Chorniy (Kiev, Ukraine), Sabine Desamours (Warrenton, Virginia), Nirali Igoe (Washington, DC), Jaclyn Khrol (Brooklyn, NY), Jordan Liverant (Brooklyn, NY), and Axelle Wasiak (Flemish Brabrant, Belgium)

Foil – Samantha catantan (Quezon City, Philippines), Ximena Iriarte-Estrada (Huixquilucan, Mexico), Sofia McGoff-Medero (Gurabo, Puerto Rico), Ari Proietti (Como, Italy) and Ariel Rastep (San Francisco, California), Mikaela Yhip (Chico, California)

Saber – Pauline Conscience (Paris, France) and Steph jen (Taihung, Taiwan)

After this weekend, selected fencers will travel to Columbus, Ohio, for the Olympic trials at the Division 1 and Junior-Cadet levels.
