Playboi Carti concert in Houston: rapper’s show canceled after attendees picked up fences and knocked over metal detectors

HOUSTON – Fans who had tickets to see rapper Playboi Carti in Houston on Saturday night are trying to get their money back on Sunday, after chaos and turmoil caused the concert to be canceled.

While waiting to enter the arena, ticket holders picked up metal fences meant to keep fans in line before the concert at 8 p.m.

“It’s a really intense and aggressive album,” said one fan. “People came to the concert really amplified and ready to go crazy. Maybe the people at (the venue) NRG weren’t prepared for this.”

Photos and video Shared with ABC13, the Houston branch of ABC7 Chicago, fans of the show bypassed security and knocked down metal detectors.

The Houston Police Department even made a radio call asking for more officers to respond to the incident. They eventually controlled the incident and said no arrests had been made.

A witness told ABC13 she saw that an ambulance was called for someone who had been run over during the chaos, but no details about this were immediately disclosed.

Officials at the venue where Playboi Carti was scheduled to perform said ticket holders should request a refund from where they purchased their tickets.
