Qatar updates Covid-19 precautionary measures from January 29

Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the Cabinet meeting held by the Council this afternoon via video communication technology.

At the start of the meeting, the Board listened to the explanations given by His Excellency the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments and developments to limit the spread of Covid-19, and also examined a report from the Supreme Crisis Management Committee.

In this regard, and in the interest of the health and safety of all members of the company, has decided the following:

These decisions will come into effect from the Saturday corresponding to January 29, 2022, until further notice.

1 – The continuation of work from the workplace for all public sector employees and allowing all private sector workers to work from the workplace.
2- Continue to allow meetings for employees and workers in the public and private sectors at their workplaces with a maximum of 30 people vaccinated.
3- Continue to require all employees and workers in the government and private sectors to carry out a rapid antigen test approved by the Ministry of Public Health, on a weekly basis, for those who have not received or completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Employees and workers are vaccinated and those who have recovered from the disease are exempt.
4- Maintain the obligation to wear a mask in all open and closed public places, with the exception of people who practice sports in open places.
5- Continue to require all citizens, residents and visitors to activate the EHTERAZ app on smart phones when leaving home for any reason.
6- Continue to open mosques to perform daily and Friday prayers, allow children to enter, while respecting the precautionary measures determined by the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and in authorizing the opening of toilets and ablution facilities in mosques as determined by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
7- Continue to allow social gatherings in homes and majlis as follows:
A- Maximum of 10 people, vaccinated, in closed spaces in houses and majlis, except for family members residing in the same house.
B- Maximum of 15 people, vaccinated, in open spaces in houses and majlis, except for family members residing in the same house.

8- Continue to allow wedding parties only in hotel wedding halls and independent wedding halls, and for fully vaccinated people with a maximum of 40 people.
B – No more than 50% of wedding hall capacity open and maximum 80 people.
9- Continue to allow gatherings or sitting in public parks, beaches and the Corniche with a maximum of 15 people or family members residing in the same house. It is permitted to practice individual sports such as walking, running and cycling, and to authorize the opening of playgrounds and sports equipment in these places, and to authorize the opening of beaches not exceeding 75% of capacity and to authorize the opening of toilets in the gardens specified by the Ministry of Municipality.
10- Continue to oblige all citizens, residents and visitors when leaving and traveling for any reason whatsoever, to have no more than four people in the vehicle, including the driver of the vehicle, with the exception of family members residing in the same house.

11- Continue to allow people to be transported by bus, without exceeding 75% of the capacity, taking precautionary measures and measures.
12- Continue the operation of metro services and public transport services, not exceeding 75% of capacity throughout the week, with the closure of places designated for smokers and the prohibition of food and drinks in the aforementioned means of transport.
13- Continue to allow the opening of driving schools and to offer their services, according to the following:
A- Full capacity if 75% or more of the total number of trainees have completed the doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
B – A capacity that does not exceed 75% if the percentage of trainees having completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine is less than 75% of the total number of trainees.
All school employees must be fully vaccinated and trainees who are not vaccinated must take a rapid antigen test approved by the Ministry of Public Health.

14- Authorize the opening of theaters and cinemas and their services not exceeding 50% of the capacity, provided that 75% of the clientele is vaccinated. Children under 12 are allowed and will be counted in the 25% allowed without vaccination.
15- Authorize educational centers and private training centers to provide their services with a capacity not exceeding 75% and full capacity if 75% or more of the trainees are vaccinated, provided that all trainers in these centers are vaccinated, trainees who are not vaccinated must pass (Rapid Antigen test approved by the Ministry of Public Health.
16- Authorize the opening of crèches and their services not exceeding 75% of capacity, provided that all workers who start working in the crèches are vaccinated.
17- Allow the opening of museums and public libraries at full capacity, allowing entry to all, vaccinated or not, and allowing entry to children.
18- Authorize the holding of educational sessions in designated centers for people with special needs, with a maximum of 5 people per session, provided that all trainers are vaccinated.
19- Allow professional sports training, whether in closed or open spaces, and allow preparatory training for local and international tournaments approved by the Ministry of Public Health, and allow training of age groups at from 18 years old for Qatari sports clubs and federations, with a maximum of 40 people in open spaces and 30 people indoors, vaccinated, without authorized public, and the suspension of training for children under 12 in private clubs.
20- Authorize the organization of local and international sports events after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Public Health, and allowing the presence of no more than 50% of the public capacity in the open spaces, provided that they have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and allowing 30% capacity in covered venues, provided they are vaccinated and the suspension of local and special sports leagues and tournaments for age groups, and the suspension community sports tournaments and activities.

21- Continue to allow the organization of conferences, exhibitions and events in accordance with the following:
A- Capacity not exceeding 50% in open spaces.

B – Capacity not exceeding 30% in closed places.

In all cases, the prior approval of the Ministry of Public Health is required before the holding of any conference, exhibition or event, and that all the organizers and participants of these conferences, exhibitions and events have completed the doses of the vaccine Covid- 19.

22- Continue to allow shopping complexes to open at full capacity, and to allow entry for all, whether or not they have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and to allow entry of children, and to allow the entrance opening of food courts inside the shopping complexes, not exceeding 50% of the capacity. Permit the opening of prayer rooms, testing rooms and toilets in these complexes, with all shops in these complexes respecting the maximum number of customers allowed, which is determined by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

23- Continue to allow restaurants and cafes to serve food and beverages as follows:
A- Full capacity for restaurants and cafes that have the “Clean Qatar” certificate, and a capacity not exceeding 50% for restaurants and cafes that meet the conditions set by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in open spaces.

B – Capacity not exceeding 75% for restaurants and cafes with a “Clean Qatar” certificate, and a capacity card not exceeding 40% for restaurants and cafes meeting the conditions determined by the Ministry of Commerce and of Industry, provided that all customers have completed the doses of vaccines against Covid-19, and authorize entry to children under 12, accompanied by their family only, in enclosed spaces.

In any case, all workers in these facilities must be those who have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

24- Continue to allow the work of charter services for tourist boats and yachts and pleasure boats, provided that all workers on these boats and yachts have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and that the number of passengers on these boats and yachts not to exceed 30% of its capacity and a maximum of 15 people who have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Owners of personal boats and yachts, if used, are required to have no more than 12 people on board, with the exception of family members residing in the same household.

25- Continue to allow the souk to operate every day of the week at full capacity and to allow children to enter, with all shops in these markets respecting the maximum number of customers authorized for their presence, which is determined by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

26- Continuation of the works of the wholesale markets with a capacity not exceeding 75%, allowing the entry of all, vaccinated or not and allowing the entry of children, with the commitment of all the stores of these markets on the number maximum number of customers allowed to be present, which is determined by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and allows auctions to be held in these markets.
27- Continue to allow the opening of beauty and hairdressing salons with a capacity not exceeding 50%, provided that all workers in these establishments and customers are vaccinated and allow the entry of children, taking into account realize that there are no more than two children under the age of 12 at the same time in these lounges.
28- Continue to allow the opening of amusement parks and all entertainment centers as follows:
A- Capacity not exceeding 75% in open spaces.
B – A capacity card not exceeding 50% in closed places, provided that 75% of customers are vaccinated and authorizing entry to children under 12, accompanied by their families only, and counting them in the percentage of 25% unvaccinated.
In any case, all workers in these establishments must have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

29- Authorize the opening of health clubs, physical training clubs and massage services, not exceeding 75% of capacity, with the closure of saunas, hammams, Moroccan and Turkish baths, and allowing the opening of changing rooms, showers and jacuzzi services, provided that all workers in these establishments and customers are fully vaccinated.
30- Authorize the opening of swimming pools and water parks according to the following:
A- Capacity not exceeding 75% in open spaces.
B – Capacity not exceeding 50% in closed places, provided that 75% of customers are vaccinated and only allowing entry to children under 12 accompanied by their families, and counting them in the 25% unvaccinated.
In any case, all workers in these facilities must belong to those who have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
