An EERIE photo that appears to show a “demon like a ghost” sent Reddit users into a spin.
The spooky photo, released Wednesday, was taken just outside a former Civil War Army hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In the comments, user “Drew B 102” explained that he had previously been warned by a real estate agent that the house was “haunted”.
âThe patients were operated on inside the house and then moved to the back field where most would die after being placed in tents,â the photographer explained.
“This photo was taken of the face of the tree, and I only noticed the silhouette behind it this evening.”
I have walked around this field photographing it for the vendor, and not once have I seen this shape near the fence in person or in other shots.
It quickly sparked a heated debate on Reddit as people wondered what the ghostly figure could be.
In comments below the post, some suggested the “scary” figure could be a nun.
âBeing a hospital, it would have had nuns,â one suggested.
âLook for images of the Nuns’ Civil War in the United States – and it’s a striking resemblance. Cooling”
Another agreed: âI have to agree, it looks like a nun or a nurse in the military. Interesting catch!
However, some users were far from convinced that this was evidence of supernatural beings.
One user said, âIt’s not ‘half decent’ it’s a blurry picture of what could literally be anything.
âThere is absolutely nothing in this photo that suggests it was something paranormal.
“It’s impossible to tell what the object is in the photo, so why assume it’s a ghost?” “
Others also pointed out that the object could be something caught in the wind – despite the photographer’s confession that he saw nothing obstructing the view of the buildings.
One user speculated that it was a “torn plastic bag caught in a fence,” while others suggested it was a tree or an umbrella.
The unusual quote comes just a few months after a a haunted pub has been put up for sale in Wales.
The pub, which is on sale for £ 140,000, has reportedly witnessed a number of paranormal encounters, including creepy whispers and ghostly figures.
