Fitzpatrick amazing 2nd hit of 15

This incredible shot by Fitzpatrick from the crowd to the green seemingly confirms that Matsuyama’s -3 won’t be enough for a playoff unless there is a real disaster.

And it looks more and more like Scottie Scheffler will need a birdie to stand a chance. Fitzpatrick made no mistakes outside of his disastrous No.11.

Who will hold?

Although there is no Mito Pereira, this final is really starting to look like Sunday at the PGA Championship last month. It’s less about who will win and more about who can hang on and not make a mistake.

Even as I type this, Will Zalatoris hits another drive in the trees at #13.

If we keep the comp alive, Hideki Matsuyama’s tournament best 65 puts him in the clubhouse at -3, similar to Justin Thomas’ run in Southern Hills.

And if we go on trust to be stable, Scheffler has the most street cred in those places.
