MORGANTOWN — Cadence Vincent of Buckhannon-Upshur won two individual events and was part of a winning relay unit as the state swimming championships wrapped up Friday at Mylan Park Aquatic Center.
Vincent, a junior, won her third straight 50-yard freestyle title with a time of 23.35. She had broken the state record in both freshman and sophomore grades.
She won the 100m backstroke title with a time of 56.55.
Cadence Vincent, senior Cameron Zuliani, rookie Riley Vincent and junior Alayna Whitehair formed the state-winning 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:41.64.
The same quartet finished second in the 200 medley relay (1:51.40).
Zuliani was third in the 100m butterfly (1:01.46) and 12th in the 100m freestyle (1:00.24) and Whitehair fifth in the 200 IM (2:20.36) and sixth in the 100m breaststroke (1:00.24). 12.37).
Sophomore Rachel Shryock was eighth in the 100 freestyle (57.74) and 10th in the 200 freestyle (2:05.56) to lead Elkins.
She joined seniors Kaleigh Edwards and Isabelle Judy and junior Ruby Jackson in placing ninth in the 400m freestyle relay (4:09.07) and juniors Joslyn DeWeese, Judy and Edwards in posting a 10th place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:09.07). 06.58). .

Philip Barbour’s 200m freestyle and 400m freestyle relays of runners-up Magnolia Shiflett and Layna Grassi, junior Raeanna Davies and rookie MacKenna Halfin both finished eighth with times of 1:50.92 and 4:09.89, respectively.
Halfin was seventh in the 50 freestyle (25.78) and Shiflett eighth in the 100 backstroke clocking 1:04.99.
George Washington won the tag team title with 207 points, followed by Morgantown (192), BU (122), Bridgeport (114) and Fairmont Senior (94) to make up the top five.
Elkins finished 12th (34) and Philip Barbour tied for 14th with 28 points.
